Did you know there are spiders big enough to catch fish? I didn’t until I saw this slide show on Scientific American. The number of skills these various spiders wield is pretty impressive; some can swim, some can dive, and some can walk on the surface of the water. Once they catch a fish, they have to drag it out of the water to start breaking it down with enzymes.

Look at the pictures of those spiders hauling fish around and it makes you wonder how much greater in body weight their prey are. The scientists say there are five different families of spiders that catch fish and I’ll be on the lookout for them next time I’m near any water.
