Spadea’s comic journey — second runner up…I’ll take it

Honored to be on stage with some incredibly talented and funny members of the media Sunday night. My five-minute set that I wrote with a lot of help from Comedian Jay Black and Stress Factory owner and comedian Vinnie Brand was good enough to place third.

Two performers tied for first and I was second runner-up. I'll have a full report on my comic journey that, as you may know, started with comedian Tommy Johnagin telling me #TheMuffinJoke, in the July/August edition of New York Lifestyles Magazine.

With the help of my colleagues and friends, specifically Joe Piscopo, Steve Trevelise and Jessica Nutt, we turned that into a joke telling routine to raise money for several charities.  Soon after I found myself writing comic bits and opening for real comics at venues including The Comedy Cove, Stress Factory, Tavern on the Lake and Parx Casino. The real question is, was the weekend's performance the end of a cool journey learning a new skill...or have I just begun to joke? #StayTuned.
