Tonight Governor Christie will be at the NJ 101.5 studio talking with Eric Scott at 7pm for his monthly "Ask The Governor" segment.

I'm sure the conversation will cover many local issues as callers tend to call in to solve local problems when they have this kind of access to the top exec.  Beyond that I'm sure the Governor will want to talk Trump and the debate and get in his talking points about Hillary to further his own ambition to remain on the national stage.

I think there's only one question you should ask the Governor tonight.  Why after 7 years in office have you embraced raising our taxes?  For nearly two terms as Governor Christie has been a champion pushing back on the Democrats in the legislature and keeping taxes in check.  No using the clever sound bite "Tax Fairness" the Gov as a parting gift is going to try to work a deal with the legislature to cut the sales tax in exchange for a hike in the gas tax.

Make no mistake.  This would be anything but fair.  The estimated cost to a NJ commuter could be in the $400 a year range.  In order to be "Fair" and offset that increased cost with a 1% cut in the sales tax you'd have to spend $40,000 buying taxable items to realize the fairness.  Some deal.  Not only is it ridiculous to assume an average NJ family will do that, but the Democrats have vowed to block a cut that "high" in favor of a more modest "reduction".

How about we entertain workable solutions like health care reform for teachers and state workers which could save billions in cost before we even discuss new taxes??
