SOUTH PLAINFIELD —Thanks to an alert neighbor, police were able to find a man they say entered a garage through a window in order to burglarize a home.

The South Plainfield Police Department said Douglas Baudriz-Diaz, 39, of Plainfield, was arrested early Monday morning after entering the home on Palmer Avenue. After police responded to the home they entered the garage, which was locked at the time. Baudriz-Diaz was found by the department's K-9 Kaiser hiding under furniture.

After his arrest, police said Baudriz-Diaz was charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools. He was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer warrant.
