Police in south Jersey say they captured a suspect who tried to escape by climbing into a hospital crawl space.

It all started when a 20-year-old woman missing from Northborough, Mass., called Galloway Township police to say she was being held in a hotel against her will.

Police arrested 27-year-old Alex Jean of New York and two other people on charges of hindering apprehension.

Jean was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police say while in a hospital bathroom, Jean tried to flee by climbing into the ceiling tiles. The escape attempt failed when he fell through the tiles into the hospital waiting room.

Jean is charged with escape and resisting arrest. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
