David Ennis, the uncle of Millville Senior High School running back Rob Ennis, 17, tells the South Jersey Times it was his nephew who punched a girl in the nose following the Miss Holly City pageant over the weekend after they got into an argument. The Daily Journal reports the altercation took place on stage as pictures were being taken at the end of the pageant and she approached him. Charges have not been ruled out for the girl.

Rob was initially charged with simple assault but the charges were upgraded following a police investigation.

Millville school superintendent David Gentile tells the Press of Atlantic City the school is conducting an investigation along with police that will determine Rob's future with the team. “We have [an] expectation for our students to behave appropriately, and any kind of misconduct like this, we’re not going to tolerate it," he told the newspaper.

The South Jersey Times reports that Rob has already committed to Purdue University.

David, who is also a Millville City Commissioner, says his nephew has never been in  trouble before. "In the 17 years that I have known him, his record will speak volumes by itself. He's never had one incident his entire school history," he told the South Jersey Times.
