71-year-old Raymond Wheeler of Somerset was exiting the Garden State Parkway just after 7 p.m. Monday when he failed to negotiate the ramp from the Parkway onto Route 440 south in Woodbridge. His car then went on to a grassy median and struck a concrete barrier.

Wheeler was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, and no other injuries were reported.
