High temperatures yesterday reached the low to middle 80s, as warm as 86 at Newark Liberty Airport.

We had a scattering of showers and thunderstorms, but it was mostly showers that were not as widespread as the last day or two.

There's the risk of a shower or thunderstorm, in spots, today with clouds and some sunshine and highs in the middle 80s, but 70s at the beaches.

I think that most, if not all, of the shower and thunderstorm activity will be ending this evening by 8 or 9 o'clock. Then, warm and humid again overnight with light patchy fog and most lows from 68 to 72.

There's some early fog questions for both tomorrow and Friday.

Otherwise, expect some sunshine for tomorrow, the 4th, and still humid.  There's just the chance of a late thunderstorm in NW Jersey, but the majority of the Fourth of July should be rain-free for most, which is great news.  Highs in the upper 80s, but cooler again near the ocean.

Again, early fog as I mentioned for Friday, followed by some sunshine and humidity with highs near 90, cooler at the beach.

If you are thinking of taking a dip in the water, you may want to think again. The ocean temperatures have chilled to the chilly upper 50s now.

Have a great time off, if you are off.  I'll be back from vacation on Tuesday of next week.

See you then.
