ichard Vezza, publisher of The Star-Ledger of Newark, says delivery was suspended for that newspaper and six others owned by Advance Publications, including one in Pennsylvania. He said company officials didn't want to jeopardize the safety of production and delivery personnel and other contractors.

The Tuesday newspapers will be delivered with Wednesday's editions, as long as conditions permit.

Besides The Star-Ledger, deliveries will be suspended for The Times of Trenton, The Jersey Journal, The Express-Times of Easton, Pa., The Gloucester County Times, Today's Sunbeam in Salem and the News of Cumberland County.

The Press of Atlantic City, based in Pleasantville, said it did plan to deliver newspapers Tuesday.
