We came across a neat little gem surfing through YouTube this week.

Someone's recently been uploading great videos of New Jersey, shot on 8mm film in 1975. There's video of Seaside Heights and Trenton ... and even a timelapse of the latter taken from a car.

There's boardwalk rides, the beach, the hustle and bustle of the state capital ... and oh, that '70s hair:

The thing is, we're not quite sure who to credit for these great looks into New Jersey's past. The YouTube videos are uploaded to the Ear of Corn Productions video channel (which also includes lots of other old home movies, some dating back to the 1960s.

There's an associated webpage for Ear of Corn, but it looks like it's not quite complete — the "contact us" page still doesn't have any information.

Whoever it is, it sounds like he or she has a sense of humor. From the site:

We (I) specialize in home movies, video and photography, not that I’m good at any of that. It’s just that I take a lot of video and pictures at family events. And that would be MY family events.

Whether you need a long lost photo, video or old movie of a family event you attended, we have what you need at prices you can afford (FREE). At Ear of Corn Productions, our goal is to provide you with semi-rude, procrastinated, professional service of the highest caliber.

Well, we'd love to get in touch and know who to thank for these glipses into the Garden State's past! If you know Mr. or Mrs. Earn of Corn, have him or her hit us up at newsjerz@nj1015.com, or message us on Twitter @NJ1015 or via Facebook.com/nj1015!
