But that doesn't mean reality TV isn't having an impact.

The name Mason -- as in Kourtney Kardashian's son -- has jumped 10 spots, to become the second most popular boy's name. Jacob is in first place for boys for the 13th straight year, while Sophia is the new top name for girls, according to the list released today by the Social Administration.

Reality star Kardashian gave birth to Mason in December of 2009 after a highly-publicized pregnancy. In 2010, the name Mason jumped from number 34 to number 12. Last year, as it moved up to second place, the name Mason was given to more than 19,000 baby boys.

The creator of the website babynamewizard.com, Laura Wattenberg says, "It shows what we're paying attention to." She says you can't walk through a supermarket these days "without learning more than you hoped to know about the Kardashian family."

Rounding out the top five for boys: William, Jayden and Noah. Michael came in sixth, the lowest ranking since 1948.

Isabella, which had been the top girl's name for two years, dropped to second place in 2011. Emma, Olivia and Ava rounded out the top five.
