Would you let them film in your neck of the woods?
Why not?

Even though they’re a couple of “tomatoes, as my mother would say, filming of their show…whatever it is…wouldn’t be a bad thing for the community.

It brings dollars in…even if only for a few days or a week.

Recently I met Michael…you know, “the Situation” at the Freehold Raceway Mall.

(Yes, that and EZ Pass get me on the Parkway.)

But, the point is that whenever he shows up, adoring fans line up to see him.

And, as my mother would say "manca e' fesso" (trans: he's no fool!)

Sort of like Sally Field in the movie, “Soapdish”, when she needs a “recognition” fix and goes to the Garden State Plaza to be noticed.

Bottom line, knowing he’ll show up brings bodies into the mall, conceivable to spend. (He told me as much while waiting on the Starbucks line for his Carmelacappecazza!) (no translation: figure it out for yourself!)

The cast of the MTV reality show “Snooki & JWoww” wants to hit the nightlife in Morristown between August and October, according to the show’s production company.

Burbank, Calif.-based 495 Productions has requested permission from town officials to use public and privately owned property to film segments in Morristown between Aug. 9 and mid-October, according to correspondence from the company. The cast would reside during filming in a location outside Morristown.

Town Clerk Matthew Stechauner said an application to film is currently being reviewed by the administration.

Mayor Tim Dougherty said he has spoken with Police Chief Peter Demnitz about the possibility, but he also plans to speak with the business administrator and council president before making a decision.

Dougherty said he was most concerned there would be no disruptions to pedestrian traffic in town or to residents.

The show, starring Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jennifer “JWoww” Farley, premiered in June.

It would not surprise me if the locals turned down the permit.

But short sighted nonetheless.

Would you let Snooki, Jwoww, or any of the “Jersey Shore” crew film in your neighborhood?
