Two people escaped injury when a small plane crashed at an airport in southern New Jersey.

The FAA says the twin-engine Cessna C-414 was landing at Hammonton Municipal Airport at 11:20 a.m. Friday when the accident occurred.

The FAA says the state Transportation Department reported the plane was engulfed in flames and was destroyed. The two people aboard were not injured.

The plane is registered to an owner in Damascus, Md., according to FAA records.

The accident is under investigation.
