A small banner plane has crashed at the Monmouth Executive Airport.

Wall Police confirm the Cessna (C172)  crashed at the airport around 2:30 p.m.

The pilot, the plane's lone occupant,  got out of the plane on his own and suffered no major injuries. He has been taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center as a precaution.

It's not known if the plane was taking off or landing.

Shore Area News Dispatch (S.A.N.D.) reports the plane crashed at the end of runway #14 which is an area of the airport where boats are stored. The Wall Fire Department is on scene applying foam to clean up spilled fuel.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as well as the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and NJ Department of Transportation were all contacted by Wall Police.

The Executive Airport is located along Route 34 in Wall
