A small helicopter made a crash landing in Cape May Court House on Monday morning
Middle Township Police say the helicopter, owned by the Cape May County Mosquito Commission, crashed at the Boyd Street field just before 11 a.m. with two people on board. They were hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
No one on the ground was injured and no houses were damaged, according to police.
NBC 10 reports the helicopter is a Hiller UH-12E and is classified as a "light" helicopter that can carry up to three people.
The helicopter is also leaking fuel, according to My Fox Philly.
Donald Hamer witnessed the crash and told the Cape May Herald, "I heard a noise and it kept getting closer and louder. The propeller hit the tres and I think that's what caused it to come down.
Middle Police ask witnesses to the accident to contact them at 609-465-8700. The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office is also investigating.
