Six Flags Great Adventure 2013 Opening Day Guide
Breathe easy thrill-seekers, you’re in luck! You can now soar high in the sky on the rides of your choice.
That’s right, Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park has opened for the season!
For those of you who
live under a rock don’t know about the nation’s largest Six Flags amusement park, it’s located right off Exit 16 of route 195 in Jackson, NJ. Six Flags Great Adventure consists of an action-packed theme park with over 800 thrill rides with games and fun for the whole family as well as an adjacent water park, Hurricane Harbor. Plus on Memorial Day Weekend, following the merge of Six Flags Great Adventure and Wild Safari, the 510-acre theme park is poised to debut the highly-anticipated Safari Off Road Adventure where guests will experience a unique adventure on a variety of terrain while exploring exotic animals up-close!

SIX FLAGS GREAT ADVENTURE
Six Flags Great Adventure opened on Saturday, March 23, 2013 and will remain open daily until Sunday, April 1st. (during Spring Break).
Hours: After April 1st, the park will be open from 10:30AM – 8:00PM on Saturdays and Sundays until Sunday, April 28th. May kicks off an extended schedule until Six Flags Great Adventure remains open daily beginning Memorial Day Weekend. | View 2013 Full Schedule
Don’t miss the Hurricane Sandy Benefit concert on Opening Weekend featuring Grammy Award-winning Motown Records artist Ne-Yo with special appearances by MTV stars Vinny Guadagnino from Jersey Shore and Andrew Jenks. The concert culminates “Spring Fix,” an alternative spring break event sponsored by MTV, mtvU and United Way to help rebuild communities along the New Jersey shore devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
*This star-studded event is free with park admission, and a portion of the opening day ticket sales will directly benefit United Way.
WHAT’S NEW AT SIX FLAGS
Last season, we told you all the details about SkyScreamer, Six Flags Great Adventure’s brand new tower sensation with swings soaring 24-stories high.
This year, Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park will be bigger than ever with the introduction of Safari Off Road Aventure!
Beginning Memorial Day weekend, guests will load new, rugged, open-air, Safari vehicles led by skilled drivers on a VIP-style, off-road journey through six continents and 1,200 exotic animals! Guests can experience the wild with an up-close look at the animals as they splash through ponds, climb hills, cross bridges and venture over rugged terrain.

Plus, animal lovers can enjoy the brand new, educational presentation “You Otter Know” featuring adorable Asian small-clawed otter sextuplet pups who swim and frolic in the Seafari Theater’s underwater viewing pool!
Don’t forget one of New Jersey’s best ways to beat the heat (\)! Hurricane Harbor has a great new attractions coming this season also. If you missed out on a trip to Six Flags last season, Hurricane Harbor debuted a brand new wet and wild thrill, King Cobra, check it out here. This summer, water-thrill seekers will challenge a massive, new slide complex ─ Big Wave Racer, a six-lane, four-story slide tower that will send riders barreling head-first on aero-dynamically-designed water toboggans as they race each other to the finish line.
Hours: Hurricane Harbor will be open Saturday through Monday of Memorial Day Weekend (May 25th – May 27th) from 10:30AM – 6:00PM and then each Saturday and Sunday until Friday, June 21st when it remains open daily. | View the 2013 Full Schedule
