Talk about Carrying Coals to Newcastle, A proposal to bring a medical marijuana site to Camden has public officials in a high dudgeon. Monday, one of the six licensed marijuana providers went before the Camden Zoning board to plead their case. Officials did not look kindly on the application. “Camden has problems enough already.” Said one. Well, as another opponent said, “You can buy pot on any corner.” True enough. So, maybe in Camden’ and perhaps other venues in New Jersey, we can simplify the whole matter by just wheeling the suffering and terminally ill off to a Camden street corner, where they can just sit quietly and inhale.
