Former NYPD officer Daniel Rodriguez joined me on air today to discuss his role as a former officer and musician.  He described the details of his experience on 9-11-2001 when he realized what was unfolding as ash and computer paper began covering the pavement on the Verrazano bridge after the first plane hit the tower.

Officer Rodriguez stressed that we cannot forget the events that unfolded that day. He said it's so important that we don't, even though many might have either forgotten or  put distance between them and the events that day because "there are so many who haven't because there are still so many who are suffering, there are many who are dying. We've lost more first responders post-9/11 than we did on the day and even today there are new diagnoses of cancers and respiratory diseases that are coming as a direct result of 9/11.
