Singer Randy Travis Hospitalilzed
Country music star Randy Travis has been hospitalized in Texas with viral cardiomyopathy.
Details are sketchy but according to a statement from his publicist,
Country singer Randy Travis has been admitted to a Texas hospital and is listed in critical condition. The Grammy winner is suffering from complications of recently acquired viral cardiomyopathy. Travis was admitted into the medical facility yesterday.
The 51-year-old "Three Wooden Crosses" singer is listed in critical condition. Viral cardiomyopathy is a heart condition caused by a virus.
Travis has had a number of incidents in the past few years including his threats to shoot state troopers in Grayson County, Texas in 2012 after he walked naked into a convenience store and demanded cigarettes. He also had a fight in 2012 wth his fiancee's ex-husband in a Plano, Texas church parking lot. In recent months, however, he’d pledged to give up drinking and he looked revitalized at the 2013 CMT Music Awards in June according to A Taste Of Country.
Travis was scheduled to perform in Deadwood, South Dakota on Wednesday according to his website.
