The big news over the weekend was the closure of the northbound Pulaski Skyway. While traffic wasn't bad over the weekend, the real test was going to be the first Monday morning commute.

James Simpson, the NJ DOT Commissioner, called in to Jim's show this morning to give the latest update on how the surrounding roads are handling the extra traffic.

Thus far, it's been much ado about nothing, with only a little heavier traffic at the Lincoln Tunnel. Simpson did attribute the lack of traffic to many drivers and schools being off for Easter and Passover holidays this week.

Simpson went on to say that there will not be a lot of tweaking and changes this week, as they will wait to see the volume rise next week after the holidays are over with.
