Should Viki Knox, Union County School Teacher, be Allowed to Retire? [POLL]

Viki Knox, the Union County school teacher who created a media frenzy last year for her anti-gay remarks on Facebook, is now looking to retire rather than face tenure charges.

Knox is looking to retire on disability pension, citing both a back injury and “psychological grounds.” Either way, even if Knox does retire she would still have to go through  some form of a disciplinary process before a final decision can be made on her disability claim.

The bigger question is why was she not allowed to give her opinion on her personal Facebook page in the first place?  If you want to disagree with Knox on her stance, fine. The backlash she is receiving is quite harsh for giving an opinion on a social media page.

Take the poll and let Jim know what you think should happen to Viki Knox.
