As it has become custom on the Jim Gearhart show, Jim often speaks of the annoyances of NJ motorists driving gingerly in the left lane.

They are not-so-affectionately known as 'left lane dicks' and they are a menace on NJ roads.

Now, according to a report by our own Statehouse Correspondent, Kevin McArdle, an Assembly Committee will discuss raising the fines for those drivers.

“The bill would increase the fine from between $50 and $200 to between $100 and $300 for the fine,” says Assemblyman Gilbert “Whip” Wilson. “It would help with things like road rage and also it helps with traffic flow and also it may help cut down accidents too.”

So what do you think? Should NJ create harsher fines for left-lane-lingerers?  Or will this be another law that has no teeth and will ultimately go without being enforced?

Take our poll and let us know what you think.
