Love him or hate him, one of Donald Trump's strengths in the 2016 presidential race is that he has plenty of money.

Trump's wealth means that he can still run a strong campaign even if he is left out of major debates and loses the GOP nomination.

In other words, while other candidates are "tip-toeing through the tulips," with Tiny Tim to please their financial backers, Trump has the ability to remain unencumbered by outside interests.

We already have plenty of Republican options, so what difference does it make if Trump chooses to declare another party?
