Should Atlantic City be a cruise destination? [POLL]

Many Garden State residents drive to Atlantic City for a weekend escape, but it could become a cruise destination in the future.

Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian wants to turn the city into a cruise port in order to help with its financial issues. The tourists on the ship coming in from different parts of the world may be able to generate revenue for the struggling city.

Callers on the Jim Gearhart show discussed the pros and cons of this situation. Some argued that this would be pointless, because people go on a cruise to gamble, drink and dance on the ship, and use the ports to relax. Others thought that it would be a great idea, because it would take away Atlantic City’s bad reputation, and bring a new life to the city.

Do you think Atlantic City should become a cruise destination? Would it help the city’s economy, or would it just be pointless?
