The shooting occurred early Wednesday at a duplex on North Street in Bridgeton. Police Chief Mark Ott said the shot was fired as the officers were walking on the sidewalk in front of the residence.

Olt said the officers took cover and then conducted a brief search, but the shooter could not be located. No arrests have been made.

The New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association has offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter. The group also posted a similar award for information on who fired several shots into the West Deptford police station earlier this week.
