Shocking stories of feral children

The phrase "raised by wolves" is used as a joke. There are actual cases of human children being raised by animals through bizarre circumstances.

In 1985 a very young girl was abandoned by her alcoholic parents and survived bitter cold by crawling into a farm kennel with mongrel dogs. That act probably saved her life. The dogs ended up adopting her and she was not discovered until 6 years later at the age of 8. By then, having had no human interaction for 75% of her young life, the only words she remembered were "yes" and "no". She ran on all fours, barked, bared her teeth, panted, and lived as the species that had saved her.
