The Coast Guard announced a shelter-in-place advisory just before 6 p.m. Monday for the town where a train derailment last week spewed a dangerous chemical into the air.

The Coast Guard says residents should stay inside with their windows and doors closed because the levels of vinyl chloride had spiked.

A similar advisory Monday morning lasted about five hours.
