Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper says two bodies found in a pick up truck in Sissonville, West Virginia have been identified as Shain and his uncle, 48-year-old David Gandee according to WSAZ TV. A third body was also found but has not been identified.

Kanawha County Sheriff's Department Cpl. B.D. Humphreys says they were getting ready to send out an aviation unit to search for the men when authorities received a call Monday morning that a vehicle was found wrecked in a muddy area a few miles from Gandee's home in Sissonville, about 15 miles outside of Charleston.

A 1984 Ford Bronco that belonged to the Gandee family was found in a ditch with all three men inside. Humphreys did not provide details on the condition of the vehicle or the bodies. He said no foul play was expected.

David and Shain were last seen at a bar in Sissonville on Sunday morning at 3 a.m.. Family members said the men planned on riding their all-terrain vehicles, but did not say where. They reported the men missing after they couldn't get in contact with them Sunday.

Carper said the news was devastating for the small community near Charleston.

"It's a very sad day for the Sissonville area and for these families," he said. "This is a small community, and most of us know directly members of these families. We're keeping them in our hearts and prayers."

A spokesperson for MTV said in a statement, "We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly."

Shain Gandee is the third cast member to make headlines. Salwa Amin was in custody Monday after violating terms of her release on pending drug charges. Michael Douglas Burford was charged in February with driving under the influence.

Buckwild took over the Jersey Shore slot on Thursday nights and had was renewed for a second season. MTV describes the show as "an authentic comedic series following an outrageous group of childhood friends from the rural foothills of West Virginia who love to dodge grown-up responsibilities and always live life with the carefree motto, "whatever happens, happens."

Shain, nicknamed "Gandee Candy" by fans, was a breakout star of the show.  It was filmed last year mostly around Sissonville and Charleston.
