A story that is trending big time on social media has to do with the relationship a veterinarian had with the dolphin that became infatuated with her.

The special will air on the BBC next week is entitled “The Girl Who Talked to Dolphins.”

According to the story in the NY Post, Margaret Howe met Peter the dolphin in 1965 at the beginning of the sexual revolution. Her job was to train the dolphin English – but in doing so, the dolphin developed feelings for her.

Sexual feelings.

Here is the trailer for the special.

As you can see, Howe is quite sincere in her intentions to train the dolphin to respond to female dolphins and in whatever lessons she needed to impart to the dolphin.

And she does seem like a very gentle and loving person - so it comes as no surprise that the dolphin would develop feelings for her.

But call me conventional. Her relationship, albeit somewhat one-sided, is a bit too much for me to wrap my brain around.
