At 5:25pm, radar indicates severe thunderstorms moving toward north and central New Jersey.

There is a severe thunderstorm watch in effect for all NJ counties except for extreme South Jersey (inside the blue line above).

New Jersey counties under a severe thunderstorm warning are Passaic, Warren and Sussex as of 5:30pm.  Warnings have also been have been issued for Northeast PA and New York state.

From the National Weather Service:

National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
line of severe thunderstorms capable of producing quarter size
hail... and destructive winds in excess of 70 mph. These storms
were located along a line extending from 58 miles northwest of
Otisville to 33 miles northwest of Port Jervis to 56 miles west
of Port Jervis... and moving southeast at 60 mph.

Alan Kasper called into Deminski & Doyle this afternoon and says central, north and northwest New Jersey can expect strong winds, heavy rain, lightening and possible hail.  The storms will taper off my 11pm with an isolated storm no later than 1am.
