An accident involving a school bus with students on board in Sicklerville sent more than a dozen people to the hospital Friday morning.

Gloucester Township Police said that a school bus carrying 30 students to the Ann Mullen Middle School was rear-ended by a vehicle on Sicklerville Road at Bryces Court around 7:45 a.m. as the bus was slowing down with its yellow lights on.

The vehicle that hit the bus was driven by a 25-year-old man with two children, ages 2 and 4, police said. They were all hospitalized for minor injuries along with 12 children on the school bus.

Police did not release the names of anyone involved with the incident and did not say if any tickets were issued or charges filed.

NBC 10 reported at least one person was taken off the bus on a stretcher.

 

Crews from Gloucester Township, Pine Hill, Winslow, Berlin Lindenwold and Stratford all responded to the accident.
