The win was the fourth in a row for the Pirates (9-2), while the Lancers (3-9) lost their second straight.

The Pirates took a 3-2 lead on a 3-pointer from Edwin and never looked back, breaking the game wide open on a 12-0 run late in the first half. Edwin scored nine of the 12 points during that five-minute span.

Besides Edwin, the Pirates got 13 points from Brian Oliver, who had been practically invisible in the past three games, and 11 points and eight rebounds from freshman Kevin Johnson, almost doubling his seasonal output.

Longwood was led by Jeylani Dublin, who had 13 points.
