A recent event in Bill Doyle's household had us taking some fun phone calls. Seems the Doyles' new dog, Luna, was subjected to a Halloween themed sweater by Bill's daughter. He wasn't very happy, and you can see why here.

This led to calls from people who dress up their dogs all the time, especially for Halloween.

Halloween costumes for pets have become big business. It is estimated by the National Retail Federation that some 20 million pet owners will spend $350 million on costumes for their pets in a given year. One of the coolest costumes I've seen is when you take a Golden Retriever and have it wear that fake mane, and it looks just like a lion.

So come on, Jersey, send us your pics! You can win an awesome prize!

This is for any kind of pet — dog, cat, ferret, lizard, etc. You can email photos to DD@nj1015.com, or send them via the free New Jersey 101.5 app. Your photo has to be yours, meaning one you took yourself of your own pet, and by sending it you agree to having it included in an online photo gallery. Please include your full name and contact information.

We must receive your pet costume photo by midnight on Oct. 28 to be eligible. Must be 18 or older. Limit one entry per pet. The winner will be announced on Halloween Day, October 31.

And the submitter of the best photo, as judged by our staff, will win a second-generation Amazon Echo featuring an updated design and enhanced sound quality (Retail Value $99.99).

That lucky winner — and any owner of an Amazon Alexa-enabled device — can get New Jersey 101.5 news as a Flash Briefing and soon will be able to stream New Jersey 101.5 radio!
