Senator Bob Menendez Has Faced Investigations Before

Sen. Robert Menendez is a veteran of allegations and scrutiny but has never been charged with a crime.

More than 30 years ago, the Democrat testified in a federal racketeering trial of a political mentor.

He was investigated starting in 2006 in a rent-for-influence deal. He has been the recipient of political donations from people who admitted using straw donors to exceed legal limits.

Now he's getting heat after a conservative website reported he patronized prostitutes after being flown on a donor's plane to the Dominican Republic.

Menendez's office this week acknowledged the flights, said it has paid back the donor and denied prostitutes were involved. The donor's Florida office this week was raided by the FBI.
