The state Senate's Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee is set to consider a bill Monday that permits residents to sell home-baked goods. They would have to have a placard indicating the items were baked in a kitchen and were not subject to inspection by the state Health Department.

State law doesn't explicitly bar such sales. But this measure is aimed at exempting home bakers from regulations generally required of commercial bakers.

The measure passed the Assembly unanimously in May 2014.
