Last night my children Lennon and Albert, with a little help from their Mom, Deneen got me tickets to see Paul McCartney in Philadelphia.

I cannot thank them enough although I’m sure they will find some ways for me to repay them.

Paul put on a great  show as usual, with lots of talking to the audience about the songs and where they came from.

Among the “New Beatles” songs he did as in those I have not heard him perform live were “Another Girl” from “Help,” “Lovely Rita,” “For The Benefit of Mr Kite”, from Sgt Peppers, ‘All Together Now from Yellow Submarine, and he ended with the “Golden Slumbers Medley”

Maccca also hit the usual suspects ‘Yesterday” “Hey Jude”, “Let It Be” “Can’t Buy Me Love”, “I’ve Just Seen A Face” “The Long and Winding Road”

From “Wings” he chose among the usual “Live and Let Die” and “Band On The Run” with some incredible pyrotechnics, ‘Maybe I’m Amazed” ,“Listen To What the Man Said”, ‘1985”,  and “Let Me Roll It” which was written about John Lennon”He’s added “Another Day”

Paul also paid tribute to John Lennon with a touching rendition of ‘Here Today” which got  a round of applause when he sang “I Love You” in one of the verses.

Later he brought out a ukulele and talked about how much George Harrison loved the ukulele then broke out into a rendition of “Something” which led to a full version of the song.

What I love about seeing Paul McCartney is that he really makes you feel like he's hanging out you by telling stories between the songs.  As for the songs, he could easily play three different shows and not repeat a song and you wouldn’t be disappointed with any of them.

What's the best concert you ever attended?
