The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office says 18-year-old Owen Soltis was arrested Monday.

He faces murder and other charges in the death of 21-year-old Leandro Mendoza early Friday outside a liquor store. He's being held on $1 million bail. His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.

A 17-year-old boy pleaded not guilty to murder and other charges Tuesday in juvenile court in Paterson. He's being held at a juvenile facility in Newark.

Both suspects are from Clifton.

Police say Mendoza and another employee were closing the store when they were approached by a masked gunman who opened fire on them.

Mendoza was fatally shot while the other employee suffered minor injuries.
