Officials have recovered the body of a missing boater who disappeared from the Keyport Yacht Club this weekend.

Keyport Police Chief George Casaletto says 56-year-old Savino Mazzilli was found around 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Raritan Bay. The Marlboro Township man was last seen late Friday night, when he had taken his dinghy out to his anchored boat at the Keyport yacht club.

Mazzilli's death is not considered suspicious and Casaletto says there were no signs of foul play, but the investigation is continuing. It is believed Mazzilli reached his boat but then somehow ended up in the water a short time later.

He had been reported missing Saturday by his wife after he failed to meet her for the start of events tied to a local regatta.

This is the third case of someone going missing at a Monmouth County location in the past several weeks. Rudy Mena, a 17 year old from Paterson, went missing on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend off Long Branch. Two days later, a Jersey City man died after being pulled from the water off Bradley Beach.
