FLORENCE TOWNSHIP — A man considered to be armed and dangerous and wanted in connection with a stabbing on Wednesday has been captured.

Flornece Township Police offered no detail in a tweet announcing the capture of Akil Herbert. Earlier, police told New Jersey 101.5 that they knew where he was and were not concerned about children who were waiting for school buses in the area, even as Herbert remained at large.

The capture ends a manhunt that started late Wednesday afternoon on 5th Avenue in the Roebling section of the Burlington County community with the stabbing of a woman inside. Police did not disclose her identify but said she knew Herbert and the altercation was not a random act.

Florence Police said Herbert ran off, and several witnesses to the stabbing identified him.

Burlington City, Bordentown City, Bordentown, Mansfield Township, Willingboro and NJ Transit all assisted in the search. A K9 unit from Bordentown Township was used as well as a New Jersey State Police helicopter.
