The body was found Wednesday near the Union Avenue bridge in Rutherford. More than 80 men and women, along with scuba divers and 11 boats were involved in the search.

The Record reported 47-year-old Efrain Grajeda lived in Monroe Township.

Grajeda was inspecting a footbridge over Weasel Brook that feeds into the Passaic River during a downpour on Monday. The worker slipped off the bridge and was swept away when heavy rains caused the water level to rise 11 feet, authorities said.

Grajeda worked for a company hired by the New Jersey Department of Transportation as part of the state's bridge inspection program.
