Louis Cataldo will make his first appearance in court today in the Monmouth County Courthouse in Freehold according to Monmouth County Courthouse.

The Prosecutor's Office says Cataldo shot the victim in the restaurant's parking lot early Tuesday morning. Cataldo then headed to his townhouse at the Bay Point Harbour community in Point Pleasant where he was  surrounded by police and law enforcement who urged him to surrender.

The 35-year-old woman, identified by sources to Townsquare Media as the manager of the Sand Bar, remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The 62-year-old Catlado turned himself in just before 1 p.m. and was taken to the Monmouth County Jail and is being held on charges of murder and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. Bail is set at $1.5 million.

Sources say the victim was promoted to manager shortly after Louis Cataldo became the restaurant's new owner in October just before Superstorm Sandy struck New Jersey.

The Prosecutor's Office did not offer a motive for the shooting.
