Last year it was Wildwood. This year Point Pleasant is the latest beach town that wants to ban saggy pants.

On Tuesday night, Councilman Stephen Reid wants to ban saggy pants from Point Pleasant. The councilman believes that the "fashion" look has no place in the beach town.

As Eric Scott pointed out, is the fad of baggy pants still that big enough of a problem that you still need a law for it?

This seems to be more of a publicity stunt to get Point Pleasant's name in the media more than it is to clean up the "look" of those walking the boardwalks and beaches.

What do you think? Is a ban on saggy pants really necessary or it just a waste of taxpayers time and money.
