Producer extraordinaire Jaysonic showed me this video last night.

It’s of a 4-year-old boy who hears a breakup ballad being played on the radio, and starts to choke up.
His dad, all the while, is recording the tender moment, and asking his son if he wants to change the station.

The boy is ok with hearing the song, even though he’s crying just listening to the lyrics.

When Jay is showing this to me, I couldn’t help but think of my grandson in the car seat. I don’t know if he’d have had the same reaction – since my daughter plays nothing but Sesame St. CDs while she drives with him.

But just seeing the kid react as he did made we walk away from the computer with tears in my eyes.
You might think the dad was being needlessly cruel for allowing his son to cry at a song on the radio.

I didn’t think so. He did ask his son if he was ok, and even looked for the “thumbs up” his son gave him.

I would probably have done the same – and left the tender moment alone – to borrow a phrase from Billy Joel.

If you need a tender moment “break” – this might be just what you’re looking for.

Be warned. You may need to have some Kleenex nearby.

What songs immediately bring tears to your eyes?
