Sad movies make you eat more, says study by dumpster-diving reseachers
Apparently there's some truth behind the concept of eating your emotions.
Looking to shed a few pounds? Well, watching a sad movie might not be the best way to accomplish it. A recent study from the Cornell Food and Brand Labs finds that people who watch sad movies eat 55% more than moviegoers of other genres.
The lab, which dove into the dumpsters of movie theaters to analyze popcorn leftovers, found that emotions play a huge part in the eating patterns of people while watching films.
So if you're looking to trim down, how about a steady diet of comedy movies instead? If we really do eat to feel better, then a movie that has you smiling from ear to ear is the best natural way to curb your hunger--and it's a great reason to come to one of my comedy shows!
