Rutgers will play Iowa State in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Dec. 30.

It's the first meeting between the Scarlet Knights of the Big East and the Cyclones from the Big 12.

Rutgers (8-4) is back in the postseason for the sixth time in seven years. The Scarlet Knights had their streak of five straight bowl appearances snapped last season. They finished tied for fourth in the Big East.

The Cyclones (6-6) have made only one bowl appearance since 2006. Iowa State knocked off No. 3 Oklahoma State 37-31 in double overtime to become bowl eligible.

Syracuse beat Kansas State 36-34 in last season's inaugural Pinstripe Bowl.
