Dane Miller had 13 points, 11 rebounds, seven blocked shots and four steals to lead Rutgers to an 81-66 win over Monmouth (N.J.) Monday night.

Freshman Eli Carter made 8 of 10 shots for a career-high 23 points for Rutgers (5-5), which placed five players in double figures. Mike Poole added 14 points, and Jerome Seagears and Gilvydas Biruta had 12 points apiece as the Knights snapped a two-game losing streak.

Will Campbell scored 13 for Monmouth (2-9), which had won its last two.

After a tough-shooting first half, Rutgers used two big runs to pull away. Ahead 40-37, the Scarlet Knights scored 12 straight to open a 15-point lead.

Monmouth, which fell to 0-8 against Rutgers, closed within 52-43 before the Scarlet Knights went on a 23-9 run to open their largest lead, 75-52, with 3:57 remaining. Rutgers scored 11 straight to complete the run.
