An overturned truck on Route 95 in Mercer County turned the morning commute into a nightmare on several surrounding roads.

The truck carrying bricks overturned on the southbound side between Route 1 and Exit No 8 for Princeton Pike, according to New Jersey Fast Traffic's Jill Myra. Only one lane was getting by as of 8:45 a.m.

Bricks could be seen all over the road in an image from over the accident.

The overturn also closed the ramp from Route 1 onto Route 95 south and from Route 33 onto Route 295 north. It also backed up highway traffic onto Route 295 north starting at Route 195 and caused Bakers Basin Road and Franklin Corner Road in Lawrence to get crowded with alternative traffic.

"It's going to be a very tough commute as the alternates will fill up fast," Myra said.
