Route 78 crash with tractor trailer kills 1, backs up road for miles Wednesday
An accident on westbound Route 78 near the Pennsylvania line left one person dead on Wednesday afternoon.
New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. 1st Class (SFC) Gregory Williams said a car drove into a tractor trailer just after 1 p.m. neat exit No. 3 for Route 173 in Alpha. One woman was killed in the accident, according to Williams.
Two lanes were still closed westbound for the investigation and cleanup creating a multi-mile back up as of 4:00 p.m.
New Jersey Fast Traffic's Bob Williams suggested exiting Route 78 at exit No. 3 and taking Route 22 west into Pennsylvania to rejoin Route 78.
