A 2-alarm fire broke out on the roof of the Monument School in Trenton.

Workers were on the roof of the school making repairs when the fire was called in around 1:30 p.m.reports the Times of Trenton. No students were at the school which is on summer break.

Smoke could be seen for miles as firefighters wearing their usual 50 pounds of gear in near 100 degree heat were able to get the fire out within 15 minutes of being reported according to the Times of Trenton. Doctors and other support personnel also reported to the school on Pennington Avenue and Calhoun Street to make sure firefighters were kept hydrated and took frequent breaks.
