Romney will be in Bernardsville on Wednesday to headline a fundraiser for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joe Kyrillos.

The campaign stop is payback for Kyrillos, who chaired the former Massachusetts governor's 2008 White House bid in New Jersey.

Gov. Chris Christie, a longtime Kyrillos pal, endorsed Romney in October.

The $5,000 per plate fundraiser is at a private home in Bernardsville.

Kyrillos is challenging incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez. The Democrat is bringing former President Bill Clinton to New Jersey for a June 1 fundraiser.

Menendez had $9.5 million on hand for the race as of March 31. Kyrillos reported having raised $1.75 million through the first quarter.
